Your screening answers are health information, and we treat them that way. This notice explains what we collect, why, who we pass it to, and how to get it back or have it deleted.

Who we are

ThinkBetter UK operates thinkbetteruk.com, a marketplace that offers a free online screening for ADHD and autism and connects people with independent, CQC-registered clinics for a full assessment.

We are the data controller for the information described in this notice. We are not a healthcare provider: we do not assess, diagnose or treat anyone. The clinics you choose to contact are separate controllers for the information they hold about you, under their own privacy notices.

What we collect

We collect only what the service needs to work.

  • Screening responsesYour answers to the ASRS v1.1 (adult ADHD) and AQ-10 (autism) questionnaires, the scores calculated from them, and the personalised report generated for you. This is health information and is treated as special category data.
  • Contact and identity detailsFirst and last name, email address, phone number, date of birth and postcode. Name and email are needed to send your report; postcode is used to find clinics near you; date of birth is needed by clinics to confirm the right assessment pathway.
  • Booking informationThe clinic you enquired with, your appointment date and format, anything you tell us in the enquiry form, and whether the appointment went ahead.
  • Technical and marketing informationYour cookie preferences, and — only if you accept advertising cookies — a Google Click Identifier (gclid) and campaign parameters recording which advert brought you to the site.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

UK GDPR requires a lawful basis for each use of your information. Health information additionally requires a separate condition under Article 9.

  • To run your screening and produce your reportYour explicit consent, given when you start the screening (Article 6(1)(a) and Article 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time, and we will delete your screening data on request.
  • To connect you with a clinic you have chosenSteps taken at your request before entering a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), together with your explicit consent to share health information with that clinic (Article 9(2)(a)). We never send your details to a clinic unless you ask us to.
  • To operate and improve the serviceOur legitimate interests in running a working, secure service (Article 6(1)(f)). Analytics run only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • To measure our advertisingYour consent, given through the cookie banner (Article 6(1)(a)). Advertising and analytics tags are blocked until you accept.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we never share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share it with the clinic you choose, and with the service providers that run parts of our platform on our instructions.

  • Clinics you chooseWhen you submit an enquiry, we pass your contact details, your assessment type and the information you entered to that clinic so it can respond. Only to the clinic you selected, and only when you choose to proceed.
  • SupabaseDatabase hosting. Stores your account, screening and booking records.
  • VercelWebsite hosting and application logs.
  • AnthropicGenerates the written report. Receives only your first name, which screening you took and your scores — not your email address, surname, date of birth or postcode. Anthropic does not use this to train its models.
  • ElevenLabsProduces the optional audio narration of your report from the report text.
  • ResendSends transactional email, such as your report and booking confirmations.
  • PostHogProduct analytics, to understand how the site is used. Runs only with your analytics consent.
  • GoogleAdvertising measurement through Google Tag Manager and Google Ads. Runs only with your advertising consent. Where we measure a conversion, your email address and phone number are sent as an irreversible SHA-256 hash, never in readable form.

Where your information goes

Some of the providers above are based outside the UK, principally in the United States. Where information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or on UK adequacy regulations where they apply, so that your information keeps the same protection it has here.

You can ask us for details of the safeguards that apply to any particular transfer.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it.

  • Screening responses and reports24 months from completion, or until you ask us to delete them.
  • Booking records6 years from the appointment date, which we need in order to answer questions about a referral we made.
  • Advertising identifiers13 months from your visit.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time — that does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, email hello@thinkbetteruk.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first so we can put it right.

Cookies

We set only what is necessary for the site to work until you tell us otherwise. Analytics and advertising cookies stay switched off until you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings on the site.

We use Google Consent Mode, so Google’s tags are told your choice before they load rather than after.

Children

The screening on this site is written for adults and is not intended for children to complete themselves. Where an assessment concerns a child, we expect a parent or guardian to be the person using the service and providing the information.

Changes to this notice

We update this notice when the service changes. This version is dated 27 August 2026. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will tell you.

Questions about any of this? Email hello@thinkbetteruk.com.
