Screening

Pre-assessment history

Diagnostic interview
DIVA-5 · QbTestThe assessment itself: a structured clinical interview lasting roughly 60–90 minutes, conducted by a psychiatrist or specialist practitioner. DIVA-5 is the standard structured interview for adult ADHD. Some clinics add an objective computerised measure such as QbTest or MOXO, which records attention and movement against a control group.
Report and outcome
NICE NG87A written diagnostic report setting out what was assessed, the outcome against DSM-5 or ICD-11 criteria, and recommendations. NICE guideline NG87 governs ADHD diagnosis and management in the UK, and a report written to it is what a GP will expect to see.
After a diagnosis
Titration · shared careIf medication is recommended, titration is the supervised period — usually several weeks — of adjusting dose and monitoring response, heart rate and blood pressure. Ongoing prescribing often depends on a shared care agreement between the clinic and your GP. Whether a GP enters one is at their discretion and at their ICB’s, and it is never guaranteed. Ask any clinic what happens if your GP declines, before you book.
